About the Course
Astronomy
105 is an introductory study of planetary astronomy, astrophysics, and
cosmology. Lecture and lab grades are computed into one grade, and the same
grade is recorded for both lecture and lab.
This
class is conducted over the World Wide Web, and is taught by Dr. Norman Markworth. An email
address and internet connectivity will be required. Participants are expected
to be proficient in the use of computers. The instructor will respond to
relevant startup questions but will not be available to instruct students in
the use of computers.
This
class will be internet-video based and is intended to satisfy a science
requirement for liberal arts majors, and will be available at all hours for
those students who cannot attend regular classes at SFA for whatever reason.
We
are very pleased to offer this course via the web. A lot of work has gone in
its preparation. The University is confident that students who are truly
interested in learning will gain new insight into the fascinating subject of
astronomy from this course.
