Drip system
Chameleons will only drink from a running or
dripping water source. I have tried fountains which
re-circulate the water, however, the water gets contaminated and
makes the chameleons sick. The best system I have come
across is a home-made device. I have rigged up a gravity
driven drip system that works great. I use a fish tank air
regulator to control the water flow rate. I use screen
covered jars for catching the water. You can see below how
the male chameleon is drinking. It is
imperative that you see your chameleon drink water every day.
If they do not drink every day they will develop gout in their
legs- not a good situation.
