This course is
designed to present "hands-on" science for those
pre-service teachers who are participating in the
EC-6 and 4-8 on-line certification program. Enrollment in
this course must be approved by the Department of
Elementary Education.
Lectures will be
provided by pre-recorded video on DVD's sent to the
student.
There will be
approximately one hour per week of interactive video chat
using "Elluminate". Students who can not
attend chat sessions may view a recording of the
chat.
Labs will be conducted using some materials sent to
the student or with readily available materials
provided by the student. Instruction for lab
activities is provided by video recorded on DVD’s
which are sent to the student along with materials.
The
course text, grades, class assignments, mail and
student chat will be provided through “Blackboard".
Students will be required to come to campus for the
last day of class unless arrangements have been made
for a professional proctoring service.
