| Course Objectives Learn the methods used to measure and comprehend the physical parameters associated with waves, sound, light, electricity and magnetism. Course Organization The course emphasizes the use of quantitative and observational skills to understand parameters used to describe physical phenomena. Students are given opportunities to conduct classroom experiments which will give them a working knowledge of physical laws that relate to measured parameters. Laboratory exercises feature "hands-on" inquiry-based activities that can be applied to the science presented in elementary school curriculum. Cooperative learning is used extensively for classroom management. Students work in cooperative groups when conducting laboratory exercises. Exercises and content are consistent with the National Science Education Standards.
